Jack & House Music

I just feel inspired to blog today. I remembered it has been quite some time since the OCF Convention 2008 in Adelaide which we all reflected as a group on how we can serve Him better, I myself shared with the group that I am a DJ and still is. What I really want to do is to nullify the corruption and filth that is spreading through electronic music at the moment. Thank God that sleazy RnB and Hip Hop is not considered electronic however this culutral influence for the west is beginning to impact genres in Electro House and Hard House, for those I can see. Try imagining what a song called 'Hardhouse Slut. =.=, Enough said. I went through a seminar by Geoffery Leong (I think) during that very convention and I must say one of the things I took away from it was that Praise/Worship songs generally lag 20 years behind what's IN now. So for example, At the moment I will be singing boy bands from 1987. Hm.. Interesting. I would like to see how religious songs would sound like 20 years from now. I believe my church 'Planetshakers' has been experimenting songs with abit of electronica feel with song like 'The Victory'. So i was wondering will a praise song 20 years from now be in a genre of wha't's hot now? IE. House, RnB. Of course RnB inflence is slowly coming in but it's seldom used. But the thing about house is, it's already been implemented especially in tradditional american churches where they have a typically phat momma singing Gospel songs. This genre is officially classified as Gospel House Music (GHM). and I have heard artistes immerging from there with the likes of Kim English, etc, etc. However that type of genre is relatively more soulful and funky in a way. Imagine what Gospel House would be like if it reflects the type of house music that is going on through the radios now. It would be mass evangelism. That is what I shared during OCF convention. That is how I see myself serving. And strangely during cell meeting or more specifically during worship, I had this vision: The same one and something additional.

'What have you done so far?'

"Nothing"

I must continue to strive forward. OK I have been genuingly inspired by this one man 'jonathan ulysses' who is a DJ who came down to ATTICA during chinese new year eve. GOOGLE HIM. Yes. I clubbed to watch his set. Firstly my point of view of clubbing has never really changed since being saved. On that night I realli dig this thought that. God has given men many diverse talents and one of the talent is the ability to be muscially inclined. Music is composed and formed by different type of means thus you have people devoting songs to praise the Lord of his mightiness and surrendering their all to him to those which are non related and classified circular music.

'The whole assembly bowed in worship while the singers sang and the trumpeters played. ' 2 Chronicles 29:28 (NIV)

Of course as I said earlier, songs with demeaning lyrics have been emerging lately and I strongly believed that this is the workings of the devil to tempt us into seduction of the opposite sex and doing unimaginable things. However don't get me wrong here. I am a DJ, I love electronic dance music. I decided that night that I should really go out praising him every time I am on the dancefloor because to me a clubbing session is not about having fun but praising the talents that he has endowed on to us and just by enjoying the music we are witnessing the wonders that he has created and what better things is there to do other than to dance with thy feet?

'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!' Romans 10:15 (NIV)

I actually heard the acapella (as shownbelow) on the bus on my way home on my ipod. It was part of a mix in Hed Kandi's Valentine Edition of their Radioshow on Galaxy FM.
It really strikes me as the perfect tonic for my current mood. (Note: Pay Attention to what was said/sung)

-- lyrics --

In the beginning there was Jack, and Jack had a groove. And from this groove came the grooves of all grooves. And while one day visciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldly declared: "Let there be house!" And housemusic was born. I am you see, I am the creator, and this is my house, and in my house there is only housemusic. But I am not so selfish, because once you're into my house it then becomes our house and our housemusic. And you see, no one man owns house, because housemusic is a universal language spoken and understood by all. You see, house is a feeling, that no one can understand really, unless you're deep into the vibe of house. House is an uncontrolable desire to jack your body. And as I told you before: This is our house and our housemusic. In every house, you understand, there is a keeper and in this house the keeper is Jack. Now, some of you might wonder "Who is Jack and what is it that Jack does?" Jack is the one who gives you the power to jack your body. Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake. Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm. Jack is the one who learns you how to walk your body. Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all jackers together under one house. You may be black, you may be white, you may be Jew or Gentile... It dont make a difference in our house. And this is fresh.

___________________________________________

After listening to the acapella for the first time. It reminded me of what view I had on house music and its relation to Gospel Music. After that I began to draw parrallel examples of the acapella and of the bible and how it supported my hypothesis I had on the dancefloor.

In the beginning there was Jack, and Jack had a groove. And from this groove came the grooves of all grooves.

OK compare this with the verses found with the bible.

'In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth' Genesis 1:1 (NIV)

'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning'' John 1:1-2 (NIV)

Obviously it's not a 1:1 comparison but one cannot deny that one can draw parallels from this. So the question remains who is Jack? Jack obviously refers to God for my perception to be prove worthy. So I did a search on this mysterious Jack in the bible.

'No Search Results found'

So I began to look at these few verses literally. God created the heavens and the earth. There was darkness all over the place and....

'And God said,"Let there be light" and there was light' Genesis 1:3 (NIV)

while in the acapella it was...

'Jack boldly declare,"Let there be house" and house music was born'

This comparison is more obvious on how Jack who is the embodiment of God created house music. which I really agree he did! Something interesting is how house music is compared with light here. Light is the opposite of darkness, it is something that we all men seek while we are in the tunnel of darkness. Light brings hope in times of need and despair. Seemingly is house music the solution and the parallelism of light? Is it the true solution in overcoming darkness. Certainly just music is needed. ALCOHOL is just a supplement for the weak.

'But I am not so selfish, because once you're into my house it then becomes our house and our housemusic. And you see, no one man owns house, because housemusic is a universal language spoken and understood by all. '

'For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son' John 3:16 (NIV)

'All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enables them' Acts 2:4 (NIV)

'I would like every one of you to speak in tongues' 1 Corinthians 14:5 (NIV)

Truely enough God isn't selfish for he gave his one and only son who's called Jesus and he came down and died for our sins. He came down from the immortailty of the heavens and lived the life serving with US for US. Hence becoming OUR house and OUR housemusic. Notice above housemusic = light/savior. And how we communicate with God is through the holy spirit that lives within each and everyone of us. In the acapella, it is phrased that housemusic is a universal language spoken and understood by all. The bible teaches us to pray in one common tongue which is our own unique way of speaking to our God. It is one unison prayer and is understood by Him.

'You see, house is a feeling, that no one can understand really, unless you're deep into the vibe of house. House is an uncontrolable desire to jack your body. And as I told you before: This is our house and our housemusic.'

'He may let them rest in a feeling of security' Job 24:23 (NIV)

'and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, "God is really among you"' 1 Corinthians 14:25 (NIV)

When we are seemingly suspended in 'the state of trance' (this term made popular by dutch trance dj/producer Armin Van Buurven) this feeling of sensation can be felt and a breakdown portion of a worship session. Where we're resting in Him with a sense of security. We do believe that true worship that we surrender all we have to Him. and indeed we are strip naked before him, he knows every strand of your hair, every molecules that consist your body. So much so that one has to fall down uncontrollbly whlist one is worshipping him. Similarly, House which is more similar to praising him, enables us to groove and 'jack your body' without any forces withholding us back.

'In every house, you understand, there is a keeper and in this house the keeper is Jack.'

'As a shephard looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheap. I will rescue them from all the places where they are scarrered on a day of clouds and darkness.' Ezekiel 34:12 (NIV)

'I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord' Ezekiel 34:15 (NIV)

'You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are people, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord' Ezekiel 34:31 (NIV)

As reiterated in the Book of Ezekiel, the Lord is our Shepard and tends to us leading us in the direction that he has planned out for us. He is the one who also keeps the flock of sheeps (us) free from all the wolves so regardless of whatever situation, all we have, nay, what we need to d is trust in him. Irregardless of good times or bad times, because he's the keeper of the house! He controls what happens and what doesn't.

'Now, some of you might wonder "Who is Jack and what is it that Jack does?" Jack is the one who gives you the power to jack your body. And this is fresh.'

The above chunk of text from the acapella is summarised into one good phrase in the bible.

'I can do everything through him who gives me strength' Phillipians 4:13 (NIV)

Indeed I believe its God who enabled my innate ability to beatmatch and to be able to pick up the bass. I am sure God has enabled some to sing better than others and some to reach into the hearts of others better than most. Anything is possible. God has given us a set of skills and its up to us to use that set of skills to serve him better. In times of need for wisdom and better time management, just pray. For he will give you strength. Seemingly at 5am on the dancefloor, I was beat. A really awesome melody came through the speakers, I closed my eyes, I raised up my hands. I told HIM. Lord, I am beat. Give me strength to enable me to dance to praise you.

And Dance I DiD.

So I realised what I ran through my head on the dancefloor at night does indeed is true to the Word. Thats why I lift my hands to praise every breakdown to the tunes as the 12 keys of the octaves weaves around each other.

I am inspired. All of you should be too.

'Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.' Phillipians 2:12-13 (NIV)

Amen to that.

Feeling Musical in Singapore

I attended Summer Urban Life here for the first time. I must say Jono's sharing was wonderful and is seriously on another level from what I have heard at cell level. It is fun meeting up with Melbournians, I guess I miss those people awhole lot more compared to those I have left back at Singapore. Now I have people to go church visiting with me. =) Awesome. I have a beach date with the city people now as well. Its long overdue. I can't wait to hit the beach and play some volleyball.

I was strolling down Clarke Quay for the first time since I returned to Singapore. I must say this area has risen up to be my most favorite haunt for the past few years with the emergence of MOS and the development of the bars in the area. It is really amazing how they recreate the chillout ambiance here. One year has changed. MOS has closed down. ZIRCA moved into the old MOS. So I did a little website search on ZIRCA before deciding on paying the 'Megaclub' a visit. I must say that the website, the concept, the publicity team, have been terribly disappointing. So I log on to the forum on ZIRCA main webbie to see what's going on. Oh. We have the Z Squad playing all next week and the next next week. With rotation between the Z team A and Z team B. What kind of club calls your resident DJs 'Z' teams. Z WAS cool! Not to say the seriously lack of new influx of performers makes the whole clubbing experience interesting. NOT. So what if most of the Z team are from Australia? So I said ok. I go on to the forum, down there ONLY a thread with a lad asking the age limit for ZIRCA and whether the membership of MOS can be converted to ZIRCA in someother way. NO ANSWER. Instead we have a random bot spamming randdom what nots on the thread and it has not been erased by the admin. WELL DONE! So later i go on to the website's event sections and see that the performance they are hosting. 'Blood Play' and Tatoo showcase events. Are the owners affiliated with an underground Cult? So I go on MSN to have a small chat with local clubber expert Xen Ho. She filled me in with her horirble experience in Zirca. Now 25 bucks only bring you to one main room in Zirca while the other RnB and Retro Rooms comes in on seperate charges. So basicially U pay per room with the main room costing 25 bucks. NOT IMPRESSED. The crowd on that nights are said to be 'old uncles bringing their china/ktv girls on the dancefloor'. Super turn off. Enuff said. ZIRCA is not going to do better.

I long for the day a club will be created. Owned by DJs, for the DJs and the crowd. Home Club seems nearest to that in the region. A true place for local talents to showcase their skills.

After hitting Zirca, I passed through Attica, I have passed through this club several times but just haven't been inside it cos lack of people wanting to go there. But I think I should seriously go inside one day. They generally play the funky side of house whreas their unheavenly brother 'Attica Too' plays RnB on ladies night so I can kind of guess how the place is like. DJ Stingray on Wednesday. Hm.... Maybe I should apply. I have a cooler name. Hah! But seirously Jonathan Ulysses this Saturday. I did a myspace search on him to check out his tunes and styles. I must say I am really surprised at the quality of the DJ that attica is able to bring in. I was very impressed with his work and style. Progressive House. Been missing out of it for a while. So I have to say. Sorry Marco V. I am not going to ZOUK. Attica Here I come. I must also say that this sort of tempts me to write a weekly note on places to go every weekend night in Singapore. like this DJ vs the other DJ. Haha. Might make this site a hit.

Jonathan Ulysses

On the other hand, I must say that I have applied to DJ at Host Scheme Night in Melbourne for the fortcoming semester. This will mark another chapter in my DJ career which has been stagnant as of late. I have been rather tempted to sign up for open decks at Home Club on one of the tueday to treat it both as warm-up to my host scheme night set. Probably a early night set will do since its a tuesday night. Tune in!

Music Updates

Recently, I have been digging through 90s Hip Hop especially those featured in Hed Kandi - Back To Love 2008 CD 3. Especially tracks like Lisa Lisa feat. Cult Jam - Let the Beat Hit 'Em which was produced by C&C Factory.

The funkiness of the tune led me to the purchase of a Squire Fretless J Bass Guitar. So I am currently learning how to operate this bugger. I was eyeing another Midi Keyboard. But I guess I will leave the task of introducing it when I have actually stepped up the interest about it.

DJ Hadi - Anorexia (Andrew Eimmer Remix)

Hey FFFs,
Thanks for checking in on this blog regularly. How's your Christmas holidays? I have almost been back for 1 month and I have done some interesting stuff met some interesting new friends. I think this summer holiday is proving very fulfilling indeed. As compared to the last one. Been into the music scene quite a bit these few weeks. Was @ Transmission, Zoukout, and Transense. I couldn't hope for more. Cheers to my friends for meeting me. Ardi and Alvin for planning respective outing on my busy behalf, Dr. Yap for making himself free and for jamming sessions almost every few weeks and sacrificing some dating time. *winks* and all those whom I have met so far! Thanks Isaring for the book that you gave me for my birthday present!

Christmas sees me going to a number of places.

21st of December (Friday) sees an interesting competition between Zouk & MOS in the form of Progressions (Yukun & P@T) vs David Morales (Club FG).

Saturday sees Me & Waynes & Friends messing up the Doctor's house, Mahjong, Settlers, Club/Bar, Dinner (not unnecessarily in that order). Maybe We'll check out Scratch Meister DJ QBert @ Zouk and DJ Shellsuit @ Phuture. However MOS offers Godwin & Enrique C in Disco Digitale, pumping out Techno/Tech House.

Sunday is Christmas Play and last minute shopping time with St. Wai Yin.

Monday (eve) and Tuesday (Xmas) is family time. However I would love to head to Zouk on Monday as they will be bringing down the house with Flashover Label Manager, Ferry Corsten.

Sadly, I would be free on the 26th and 27th. Fill those days up people!

I have also completed my rework of my earlier remix of DJ Hadi - Anorexia. A sample would be available at the link before for download. It will be signed by BeatWorks (Italy) and it is due for International Release in June/July 2008.

On the sidenote was also downloading Cally Cage's CG2 from her mix page. I have to admit the page looks abit misleading. My mumma walked in when i was checking that site on. It almost look like i was caught in the act!

Was reading on ITM forums that Earthcore ditched Nick Sentience a few weeks before the gig. Its a real pity because I am a real fan of Nick Sentience. There was interestingly a video on the ITM forum a day later showing how Nick and fellow James Lawson rocked the stage @ Camden Palace in London in November earlier in the year. The mix is also available up for download here. He also blew the the dancefloor apart with his start at TW11. It's available here. Enjoy the video embed below!

Zoukout Report from Silso Beach

Hihi! Yesterday and today was quite a busy period for me. Met Up with May for Tea and she's still as cute as my ex says she is. Actually she brought up quite an interesting point about people getting married early in our interesting conversation. It's like when the kids grow up one can actually relax about worrying so much for them (if they can) and get back into the working society.

Zoukout was at night. I had planned to go with Angie and her group however somethings came up. Saw Chermaine and Ian at the venue. Thanks Chermaine and her class for letting my bag camp at their place. Basically I was at the Main Arena from 8pm-8am. It was like the best opportunity to check out the local djs as well as the international djs. Ok from this point onwards I might make some comments that might seem abit defaming to some djs at zoukout if misinterpreted wrongly. So first and foremost, I would like to say I attended the event as an official clubber and not as a dj so yeah and furthermore i believe this blog is somewad also a personal blog. haha so this is not backstabbing yeah. haha. As i have said above I was at the main arena from 8pm-8am.

I witnessed DJ B doing a more progressive house set. kinda dull at first because no one was dancing around pretty much until i met up with austin and his gang and Tauflek from Sarawak.

And then we started to spice things up on one of the podiums with 2 russian dancers until tony tay decided to come in with abit of house and breaks towards the end. i thought the breaks was his own productions thought it was kinda wicked. crazy breaks that made alot of people around me lose their sense of 4/4 beats to dance with however the breakdown was a realli good.

Ame was abit disappointing. OK to be fair his style didn't really suit mine. He played House with a bit of the jazzy elements innit. However one thing for sure was the vibe certainly dropped as he was unable to match up to Tony Tay's set. the 1.5 hours that he was playing was spent sitting down checking out Kid millionaire @ velvet underground and buying drinks and making through the crowd which was building up. To be fair my legs were kinda tired at that point.

Booka Shade came on the main arena with 1.30am on my watch. They played a live set. I apologise for not researching into Booka Shade prior to Zoukout. However they definetly upped the vibe. They consist of 2 dudes. One dude on a digital drumset and the other one on synthesizer or maybe a sampler. I can't really see that properly as their equipments were blocked by some pillars.

At this point of time. I don't know why some irritating blokes in the crowd decided to throw lightsticks onto the stage...and drinks to another portion of the crowd. Pretty Wack if you ask me. Nothing came close to hitting the people on stage but what if it did? Singapore A Great Place to Be? I doubt so? The crowd was pretty international @ the main arena. I met alot of people from Perth, Melbourne, Norway, California, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Mongolia, Malaysia, etc. At this point, I think there was a couple of Trannies on the podiums and amazinglying the whites were hitting on them because they look 'hot' I bet they sure had some shock after they smooched him and led them off the a secluded place.

Anyway, back to the music. Carl Cox was OH YES! OH YES! I must first claim that I have never been to carl's gig nor did I ever bother to download his radio show however his signature style of hard pumping techno was a treat to my ears. one thing i liked realli much about him was also his style of pumping the crowd with his MCing. That was fannitastic as compared to the other more laid back djs.

Armin came up next. His start was rather disappointing actually too much of breakdowns and me knowing 95% of the songs he played thru my loyal following of ASOT and other radioshows. There was a slight wait for the crew to change equipments without disrupting the sounds. Armin started with Fragma - Toca Me (Inspetto 2008 Remix) and Falling by First State. When i thought that it was GG. He started to pump things back with some prog trance and then it peaked with The Doppler Effect - Beauty Lies in the Deep (John O Callaghan Remix) and Aly & Fila - Lost Language. haha good stuff indeed and that occoured 30 mins till his end of the set. I had wondered wad song he would play next to substain that energy level. He went back to play those classic trance songs that are so typical of Dave Pearce and he ended the set with Beautiful day by U2 some remix which i cannot remember off hand. Overall, I would say. He's very well marketed. Appeals to most part of the crowd . and reads the crowd very well.

Aldrin was next and by the time he came along most of the crowd has already turned in..and the mass of rubbish left on the sand was a sight to behold. Not very nice indeed to dance around rubbish innit? He played some reealli good tunes. I am not sure how to classify them..some electonica? I only recognised Justice lol. Anyway My hands are all tired from dancing and typing. Toodles!

Transense @ Plush Report {With Photos}

I have been anticipating for this event for quite sometime. DJing at a second-tier club in Singapore with at least some people who enjoy what I am playing out. Thanks to Wayne(s), Angie and Arthur for coming down. With shuffling now become a fad in Singapore, Hard style, Hard Trance and Trance has been on a fast track forward to catching people's heart.

However, Falfen made a comment about people liking to shuffle because it's the fad and doesn't really appreciate the music is certainly proven itself true on that night. It would be ridiculously true if i just play 4/4 saturated kicks and people just shuffle to it coupled with a few funky acapellas.

Maybe what Angie said was true too. That I played quite alot of Hard Trance with a Euro sound in the middle of my set.

What Jancis said was that I was so nervous at the start of my set that my transitions were crap however i improved gradually into my set. Me, being critical to myself, agreed immensely with most of the negative feedbacks. "The Only Way is Up" says the recently axed England Manager, Steve McClaren. Hahaha, I think that works the same way for me too.

Dr. Wayne thinks that I was wicked half way in my set and Wayne Lim only yawned ONCE. hahaha!

It would be unfair to Spirral if I comment on the event as a whole however from the feedbacks above you can draw up how the night was. DJing for Plush also gave me an idea how the club management structure is like beyond the normal waitress and bartender. It's really interesting sometimes.

Have to give credits to Yan and Edison for organising the event. Gibson and Tanya for just chatting and getting to know the management better and Xen for accompanying my friends that night and support too! Sabrina for logging down her camera to make an MTV even though she had her own personal issues! Cheers!

Looking forward to another night like this if it ever comes. Next one would be in QBH, Melbourne.

Fire It Up!

I Heart Andy Whitby and David Dunkerley

I was distracted by facebook again yesterday and I went online to check out my favorite DJ at the moment: Andy Whitby. He's really on fire and his latest video just proves that. Originally I was fascinated with this crowd enduring performances and his transition and effect skills. This video really blew me away. Awesome! I think i watched it at least 10 times and heard that twice as much!

Today was my last paper and the easiest paper I dare say in my university's history. I went into the hall aiming for a 2/40 to pass but OMG! The paper was a 16 choose 8 paper and there were 8 short questions. I spent 5 mins doing each question and in 40 mins I was done! Even before they allowed to let us out! Fair enough, its not a bragging session. There were half of the class which wanted to leave earlier before me but they went to the restroom to burn some time instead. O MAN! Thanks David for such a paper!

I don't know what I should do during my upcoming 10 days of break but I am sure I will find for something to do!

True to my word, I have uploaded the remastered and edited version of my 'E Playlist 9' and it's available for listening below. Enjoy!

Warrior - Warrior

I was mugging for my last paper and listening to Dave Pearce - Dance Anthems when this classic tune came out! It really got me jumping and wiki-ing it as i have been searching this song for a good 4 years! It has finally ended!

Enjoy!

New Equipments! New Opportunities! Same Old Complaints!

Hi All! It's been a while. Recently i have been busy with my exams. Well not actually since this exam is my least stressful exam of all times. I can't believe doing two geography units can actually take out so much stress out of my usual electrical engineering combination. After two essays in the mid-semester period it seems really smooth sailing for me. However, my exams are not that over yet as I have still 1 exam to complete. However, very little stress on that. I don't aim high for that even if I want because my lecture notes are in quite a mess and my lecturer finds it against the university's policy to upload powerpoints. O well. He's a really nice lecturer, don't get me wrong, just his ideals. I am certain I would get a distinction if i had his powerpoints.

A few things is happening on the music front. Firstly, FileFront, the main host of my mixes have decided that my mixes violate DMCA copyrights rule and decided to remove my mixes, however what was interesting that they could not come out with the necessary proof to their claim. However, their warning letter is kind of scary. Here's the dialog between media darling, Charlie Barr and me.

"Some or all of the file(s) you uploaded to FileFront has been deleted.

"Hi,
My username is djgrif. I have just received an email from
accounts@filefront.com that my E Playlist 9 has been removed because of
copyrights infringement. However I would like to say that it is
definitely not the case. Firstly, I made the mixes myself and the mixes
are unsigned and all the producers are aware that I am promoting their

upload my mixes on to the site in the future.

Pretty scary huh! However their excuse is pretty lame nonetheless. However, I could see their stance in playing safe. I bought a new black 13" mac book with 2Gb RAM upgrade for myself for my birthday which has passed! I am now 22 and still alive and kicking! Wow! It's so good to be alive! I immediately purchased Ableton Live 6 to go with the Mac Book so I am feeling a little guilty as the price was steep.

I have been trying actively to promote my mixes online ever since Heartest House Vol. 2 and E Playlist 9 especially on some online forums and i can say E Playlist 9 fared the better of the two and I have reaped some dividends somewhat in being given an opportunity to play alongside DJ / Producer Spirral (below) for Transense @ Plush (Singapore) this coming 29th (Thursday). It's really going to be a massive event for Liquid Dancers and Melbourne Shufflers alike. Hopefully, it will pave roads for more events to come!

E Playlist 9 Out!

Following the success of Heartest House Vol. 2 which was aired on HHUK Radio. I have come out with another wicked mix. This time it is 60 mins long as I seek to air it on my radioshows and it would be easier for the stations to schedule it. Witness my best mix yet!

The mix goes straight into hard trance and then it levels out into trance and dabbles some wicked hard house at the end. Quite the reverse order I would normally do it. It worked out great though!

On a side note, I have also done a small (2 part) RnB mix for Grace for her bday party which was yesterday. I hoped she had good fun down there. The RnB mix was a remake of my orginal playlist of MUMSU ball however it's done in the studios so the effects aren't that great but never the less it sounds more professional ^.^. I will not be releasing the tracklist for that. However, I will entertain requests for 'what's that song'.

E Playlist 8 is Finally Out!

After 1 whole month of break on Radio Monash, due to school commitment and event commitment, I have finally come out with the much anticipated E Playlist 8. This is a 2 hours special mix featuring Most of the House Tracks Played at the Entrance leading up to the start of the MUMSU Ball. So for those came up to me and said they like my type of music. Here's a chance to keep them! Unfortunately, I have to say that the mixing techniques are slightly different as i tend to make it more refined on Ableton and more wicked Live. The tracklist has also been concealed deliberately so those artist who are claiming copyrights: don't worry I am not selling them. =P I am only showcasing it. =)

The second segment features a more old skool collection of trance and a few new and yet progressive tracks and the mix of course ends with a high note with LA2DC by Jennings & Hemstock. This track has seriously been the pick of the month for me. Really wicked track that wooed me over when I first heard it over Radio 1.

Overall the mix seems to be alright except some volume control in some areas. Track selection is OK mainly due to the fact that I didn't use MixedInKey and I was following the order that the tracks were being played. Most of the songs were chosen live based on insinct hence I would like to say, I am working hard on track selections. =) I will upload it on imeem.com in due time when my internet speed gets back on track in a few days.

To Listen:

Track production wise: Hadi is still sorting out the business with Beatworks. I hope it will get released because I think it's awesome. I am currently working on a new melody to go well with my new track. I have snitched a few samples from the recording session I had with Grace, including her screwing up. (Opps lets pray she don't see this, since she doesn't reply me on MSN anyway). Anyway it's all good sound. I would expect to work seriously on this track after my exams as exam looms so ETA is around late November, early December. For friends and concerned family members reading this, I am staying to 22nd November as this will allow me time alone to work on my track, use up my internet bandwidth (with full privacy!), and idle myself away until my friends from Singapore finish their exams in their respective unis.

A big shoutout to Dada (who blogs up to 3 times a day OMG!) ,her pretty cousin Yeng (who have been keeping me company online) and Kelly Miyuki (whose latest post on her long hair is outrageously hilarious). All 3 chics above have been inspiration for me to carry on blogging and it's interesting to read their blog. Not to forget Mr. Chubby.Chubby.Cheek (Alvin Ong)! OMG! How did you manage to come out with such an act cute URL!

In RWC (Road Worthy Certificate), the ABs got knocked out by lowly France and It's making a few of my friends go shouting 'referee kayu!' However the sadist me saw that coming. =P

A noteworthy incident that happened was that I headed for a fieldtrip to Aspendale to check out the CSIRO there. To me it was only a change of environment as we were made to sit in the lecture theature there and made to attend 1.5 hours of extra lecutre sessions. The tour was brief and it didn't show any process going on. Mostly view charts around the building, BORING! But the highlight was before that I think. I got out of my studio to find Terry's Camry leveled to the ground. On a closer inspection, all four of his tyres has been punctured. The other two Echo's on the property also had cases of puncutred tyres. Thankfully I drive a Commodore! Seems that who ever was doing it was Anti-Toyota. Word around was that the culprit hit 8 properties on the entire street. OMG he's on a rampage. I hope you accidentally stab yourself with that knife. =) Kudos for Terry to dealing with the situation calmly. He rang his old man up who in turned patched his car and Amy's up. That's some quick work! They were back running when I got back from the field trip. And after that we went for yum cha at Imperial Kingdom. I think we should avoid that place next time. I think other places are prolly better. I saw this chic that entered this restaurant just as we were about to leave but o well. =)

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to my one-time supper mate: Janet. I would like to say foremost that we did had our problems when we were working for the ball but I think it's over now. Certainly enjoyed myself that night. Thanks for taking your time off your diet and spending your last dollars on that supper. I certainly hope it isn't the last! Or else i would be confined to Maccas or KFC everynight!

I can't wait for my internet connection to get back! So that I can get back to Stargate Atlantis which just started airing and Heroes (when i have the time). When is 24 coming out? =P

MUMSU BALL 2007 Report {with Photo}

Thanks to Guo Chai for the photos!

Firstly, I would like to extend my gratitude to the readers of this blog for prying your eyes over this page as it's been 1 month since my last update and you people still check it out for updates! The truth was I was having a hectic time balancing school work and my DJ commitment and I had to make true of my promise to my dad which was to concentrate on my studies. For that I made sure that I completed all the assignments before their deadline without requesting for an extension (because i will let it drag on and affect my other deadlines if i should get an extension). I have been neglecting my radio show for the past 2 weeks in preparation for the big event at Melbourne Aquarium and my studies. I would like to give a big ups to fellow Radio Monash members like Grace and Zoo (the programming manager) for keeping up with their commitment even though they had their pre mid semester break blues like examinations. When I meant school work, I actually means plenty of assignments including a 1.5k essay which would seem demeaning to my friends studying in Singapore unis however I had to summarize it and had to use a incredulous amount of diagrams to put my word across.

Pirates and the Poles

I really enjoyed that show when I crashed in with Grace the last time. Hope to do it again before she leave for KL. (Hope you see this). Had a interesting conversation with Zoo yesterday as I was in sch when I saw him retagging the radio's mp3 files. Had an interesting chat with Arun from Bio Medical Science and his group of pals during the SAM BBQ. He's one of the friendliest guys in the halls. He would even say hi to me even when I don't know him! =)

Da Pirate Kings on that day.

Preparing for the MUMSU ball was a hard task for me. It was something like coming out of retirement. (Actually Fengz commented that I have just been sticking my head out of the closet lol.) I had to juggle with a 1 week of research of what's hot in the RnB / Hip Hop scene as well as researching and finishing the essay (Credits to Aik Yong and Sylvia to sending my plenty of songs to let me take into consideration). Speaking of which I have an assignment and another essay due after this week even though this this somewhat of a break. it's looking like one of those study breaks.

Okay I look like a fag here.

Initially, I had problems aliasing with my contact and hence was really frustrated with it however I am glad that things turned out to be really well by the end of the ball. The ball proved to be quite a fine performance, a show of experimental mixing and scratching off the rust inside of me. I had an nervous wreck moment though when I was asked to play music from a cd which my system was not cut out to play although a quick 10s hear of it seem to give it an OK. the file bailed on me while i was in the middle of the session and I was playing absolutely nothing. The system crashed and I had to spend 5 mins converting the files into mp3 format for it to be compatilble with the system. All hail iTunes. Yes there were boos but people do like to get at you if you are impressive =P. I sorta gave an explaination that my mac hung but that wasn't really the case. Would like to keep things simple ain't it. That was my highlight hahah I guess in a way.

He got it lucky =P

I had loads of equipments to load and unload from the car that I was half an hours late to the event (dress up, city pm peak traffic and sound checks) had I had to set it up briskly and I am grateful that I was all done in time. With sound checks and everything made available by 7 pm I was a safe man. the committee were pretty late as well so I was pretty stressed in getting things done in time. I found myself swearing unnecessarily it sort of reminds me when i was in council and my department would always comment that I swear plenty but in fact i think it normally happens when I get stressed. I guess its my way of de-stressing...however things turned out well. There was no fault in my setups and everything ran smoothly music and mic wise. I tried alot of experimental mixing there with myself bring out my attitude by playing different music when the best dressed couples were doing catwalk auditions and scratching when i am not playing any music. I guess from the complementaries, feedbacks and the number of people walking up just to chat with me i can interpret that I was doing quite a good job. Packing up went really fast because I had the members of MUMSU helping me. A big thank you esp to Janet and her bf (for providing me with valet parking, lol) and the president and raymond helping me out.  Had a bit of problems with the masking which i thought would cost me extra while returning the equipments but it went alright. Another problem which i encountered was that I could only return the equipments the next day. and the equipments was 15 mins away from the city in the opposite direction from where i was living. So 3 hours journal to and fro was something i don't wanna do. a waste of fuel and sorts. So i decided to spend the night over in my car until Ada offered me to bunk in which was really kind of her considering the fact that she was leaving for Perth in the early morning. leaving me 'home' alone. Settled down there went for the after party which i had some fun partying with the committee members. Free booze. =)

The committees who made it possible

In the morning woke up at 9ish and made my stay worthwhile by washing the dishes and clearing the trash. After which returned the equipment and i had a early lunch at Sue's Delight. To be frank the food is not bad there considering they served fish soup on last Monday which i dearly missed. However recently Sue's temper is making the place abit negative in terms of atmosphere. The constantly squabbling between the couples in the kitchen is making it a turn off place for me even if the food is decent. I always think food is best made with a calmness in the head. However, I have to take my hats off to sue for making decent food with a fiery temper.

I like that dude's hair!

Toodles for now. Photos available when Serene and (god knows who)  send me the photos of that night which I can grab.

Releases. {Edited}

This fortnight has been a fortnight of releases in all aspects. Firstly to have some continuity from the previous post. I completed the assignment a day before my original dateline just to stick it up his bunny tooth that I didn't need that extra day off. A few days ago, I also released my girlfriend back into the society for the taking. Yes it's a weird way to put it i know. We had our fair share of out problems and we both thought it would be the best. So ladies, I am up for grabs again. Please try your best. =). 2 weeks, 2 releases. Music Mixes. I apologize for not posting a blog last week as I was keeping myself busy with a mid semester test which I was late because I overslept. =.=. I was kind of disappointed with me not waking up when my alarm went off. Maybe I heard it and i just unconsciously turned it off. I have a feeling I have a Mr. Hyde inside me. Because somebody turned the alarm off and i certainly didn't remember doing it! (I had like 5 / 20 for a 20% test) how well is that! and now i have to get 10/10 for the rest of my labs in order to pass. (better finish up those optional questions >.<)

-------------------------------

Edit:
It's been awhile. I would like to start up by advertising an event in which I will be DJing at.

If the fonts are too small for you in the picture. You can click on the picture and a enlarged version will pop out. =) I will be using the Serato Scratch System to DJ for this ball. It will be really fun. My first attempt to dip into the Digital DJ era!

It will be a fun event! Lotsa pictures will be taken. (A rare occasion to catch me in my PJs! It's frankly my first major club activity after 2 years of studying in Monash University. Haha. I would like to give credits to Melissa for asking me to do this job. I needed the promo badly! =P Recent weeks have seen people moving from Friendster to Facebook as "Facebook is the fad now wad" ~ Toy-kia. Haha. I loved the way she puts it. I should also thank Kelly Miyuki for being my first friend on Facebook! It's an honour! Haha. I have recently set up this To Be Prowled list. To See who should I prowl on this summer. =) Don't worry ladies, it's only down to one. I am not giving out any clues. =P. O and talking about Facebook, I have set up a group under my name. So that I could promote to my friends my DJ Sets as well. Haha, I needed to create the inner circle first yeah? O and I had my first 'fan mail' on Facebook! How wicked is that! It turns out to be my DJ Buddy's friend hahahha. Poor Wayne, did she send you a mail? =P

My DJ buddy (DJ Mystikal) from Sydney has extended his hands to invite me to DJ @ a possible underground party in Sydney somewhere in March, details are still being finalised. Readers living in Sydney who's interesting in finding out who's he can head down to 'One Home Club' near the Darling Harbour. Sydney Here I Come! RAWR!

Meanwhile to show gradtitude, I will be linking his latest mix, 'Spring Trance Mix 2007' it's available for download by clicking at the link. Check it out!

Double Release! {Re-Edited}

Inspired by my E Playlist 4.2, I have mixed two tasty tracks out. They are 'Morning Fool' and 'Get Alive' Both of them are quick productions (around 2 hours per track) and require mastering or some minor tweaking but the concept is there. If I get time or response to modify the tracks, i might do just so. However it will make minor difference in the flow and stuff. They can be played in the mini player at the bottom of this blog. So enjoy listening! Comments are welcomed!

Tracklisting are as follows:
Andrew E - Morning Fool.
Mike Nichol - Morning Kiss (Original Mix)
Kyau & Albert - Always A Fool (Club Mix)

Andrew E - Get Alive.
Paul Van Dyk - Get Back (Album Version)
Sound Fiction feat. Kate Cameron - Alive (Mike Shivers Catching Sun Remix)
Sound Fiction feat. Kate Cameron - Alive (Dmitri Filotov Remix)
Sound Fiction feat. Kate Cameron - Alive (Vadim Soloviev Dub)

I have no idea why I am doing this instead of my weekly radioshow E playlist. Maybe it's because I was dogged down by flu this weekend and is unable to commit. I have to admit the reason why I was dogged down by flu is because my increasing stress in my studies and my relationship with my girlfriend which is beginning to cause some problems. I have some mid semester tests and assignments due this week which are going to cause some problems to my already lacking sleeping schedule. I suddenly feel like eating Unagi Don.

I am currently also assisting MUMSU with their planning of their ball by digging out equipment rentals they need for their ball. I believe I have a better knowledge in this area compared to normal committee members. So that's why I jumped at this chance to help when Melissa asked me to. She asked me whether i wanted to be the DJ for that night. I think i need to dig into Hip Hop and RnB rather fast if i need to make it for the ball. Maybe a Hip Hop DJ can lend me his tracklist? =) Westwood is really greedy. He only shows half on the songs he plays on Radio 1 and it's proving to be quite a hard task especially me being so busy.

I have completed E Playlist 5. I know i vowed to make it better. But I actually thought it was slightly worse than 4.2 I was acutally inspired to make mash ups and hence I was abit too key restricted in the planning of my set and I tried to squeese 15 tracks into 60 mins. So it does sounds abit rojak. OMG I do sound hungry. 24 hours maccas later.

E Playlist 5
Featured Artist - Paul Van Dyk

ATB with Heather Nova- Renegade 4A
Paul Van Dyk - Another Sunday 3A
Paul Van Dyk - Talk In Grey 2B
John Hujibers - Wanting You (Mikka Leinonen Remix) 3A
Andrew E - Get Alive. 6A

Haris C - Without You (Original Mix) 8A
Paul Van Dyk - Let Go 8A
The Thrillseekers - Take Me Away (Full Breakfast Mix) 8A
Terk Dawm - Barent Blue (Tom Colontonio Remix) 9A
Galen Behr feat. Elle - Weak (Vocal Club Mix) 10A

Paul Van Dyk - Haunted 10A
Andrew E - Morning Fool. 11A
Robert Miles - Fable 2007 (Electro Mix) 11B
Paul Van Dyk - White Lies (L.A Mix) 12A
Haji and Emmanuel feat. Robert Owens - If Only 12A
Axwell, Ingrosso, Angello, Laidback, Luke - Get Dumb 11A

Those are the tracklisting of E Playlist 5. It has a rather dark starting which sorta explains my mood at the moment. The set gets clearer and brighter and harder and then it slowly goes back into house towards the end. It's abit anti climax, but I want to experiment how it like. As you can see there are alot of Paul Van Dyk songs inside. Thats because his album was just released last week and I was so tempted to do it on 4.2 however I did not had enough airtime on 4.2. Still loads of good songs on Paul Van Dyk's In Between Album.

I think I will blog a new post once a week that way it will be better and correspond to my music releases. Toodles.

-----------------

At this point of blogging, i am comtemplating about doing my assignment given by a certain lecturer.

That's Him.

I would firstly like to say foremost that I look up to him and the area of specialization that he is into, and I do see that area as an area of specialiaty which I am working hard to, however what he did today somewhat changed my impression. It's really disappointing. I was sick through the weekend (3 days) but I only see the doc and had an MC on friday. (1 day). I think the doctor made a mistake in the MC by not including the TO date when the MC expires..so it's From (last friday's date) to ____________. and he thought it was really ridiculous and he flung that sheet of paper across his desk to me. With the things I am going through I think a one day MC is surely an underestimation, I deserve a week's MC. Maybe counsellors give MCs as well? The thing was that I didn't even wrote that MC, the doctor did! What I didn't do however was to finish the assignment in advance and I was left rushing complaining over the one day extension that he has approved for me.

Learning to Club! {Edited}

I have done it! I have actually found a host for my long 1 hour mixes and it is actually on autoplay, so i can manage to irritate those people reading my blog with my mixes. FYI It's at the bottom of the site in case you have not realised and I would like to say that I am the proudest of the my 'Playlist 3' set. I have actually completed Playlist 4 way ahead of the schedule by half a week! Considering I need to do one every week. The reason is because I have a massive lab coming this friday and I want to get the radio show out of my system before I commence with my school work this week. RAWR! I would not release the mp3. However I would give out a few spoilers. =). It is a full-on trance set, unlike Playlist 3. Tracks include this week's featured artist: Mike Nichol, a red hot talent coming from Melbourne (that's where I am based at the moment!), tracks from Above and Beyond and Paul Van Dyk's latest album. The quality is abit low for a few tracks because I ripped if of LEGAL livesets performed in Nature One, the latest and biggest dance festival in Europe. NB: I have to admit that it's not as great as Playlist 3.

That's Mike Nichol.

Why did I struck all of those out? It turns out that my computer was infected with a 'virus scanner' and the brilliant me accidentally reformatted my entire hard disk including my backup hard disk which was unfortunately plugged in at the time time of my reformatting. I have lost my copy of Playlist 4 that I have made and decided not to publish until Wednesday. It seemed a bit like being shot in the arm. I will need to remake Playlist 4 in less than a day, which is possible if I stop fiddling around. I will take the opportunity to tweak the relatively inferior track list of Playlist 4. To make it into a better one. I just obtained 3Gb of brand new tracks through my beloved dc hub and thus will be able to have some sort of choice. The way I see it, it's like a brush of fresh air with the likes of Russian Trance Mantra, Dmitri Filatov catching my attention with his live sets and productions. He was incidentally awarded the Best Song award in a certain Russian Dance Awards this year. Wicked. I am certainly adding his track in along with the usual suspects above. The focus of Playlist 4 will however be unchanged. I will tweak the vibe curve and the track selections a little to make it sound better. =) I make a vow: I will improve. =)

That's Dmitri Filatov, one half of Sound Fiction.

Fading into the other subject. The event at Seven! I must first say that I don't know how to club. (What are you talking all DJs are able to appreaciate music and therefore knows how to club!) Firstly, (a fact from the Andrew's dictionary) no DJ can dance like a raver. I really put my hands down for those people on the dance floor that can shuffle their feet and can grease along the dance floor. My shoes that night were sticky (due to spilt drinks) and restricted (due to a packed dance floor). Secondly, as a DJ, I am trying increasingly difficult to satisfy my hunger of 'good music' even when i went to the house room at Seven I found myself profoundly disturbed by the relatively poor track selections and nervous wrecks of DJs due to inexperience. Basic stuff due to poor beatmatching and accidentalli pressing the CUE button. OPPS! The RnB main room was much better. Experienced DJs fitted with an MC crew. How wicked is that! However the RnB dance floor was packed so I didn't bothered chewing there. The Lounge room was playing Retro music and it was even worse! The DJ couldn't balance his levels! He was prolly playing a song at -12dB and he was scratching at the other channel to the beat at 0dB. ~.~ how can I hear the damn song? And it's lil baby scratch! Hey I can do that! Not to be overly critcal, there was this indian DJ who looked like he had some stuff in him. He dropped an awesome prog track. However he was soon rotated out of the picture after the track. O wait, did I say I was there because my friend, Melissa and to have a good night! I hope she and her malaysian gang enjoyed herself because I was a ghost (dancing away myself in the house room and critically overlooking the DJ stand). I think I am going off to Dream Nightclub the next weekend for some good 100% UK Hard Dance in Carlton.

Dude doing the Melbourne Shuffle!

Things I like to see in the club: Ravers! Those people who goes around in fancy glowsticks and just shake their booty or dance realli well or dance to fully express themselves. They give the clearest signature whether they like the vibe of the set or otherwise =) I happened to meet two ravers yesterday that were real friendly. They said Hi to me! There were only two of them. Two chics, one indian, one chinese. I was like just FONDLING MYSELF in their area of the dancefloor. Joking. =) Just the usual "dancing away myself and critically overlooking the DJ stand" I somehow don't like RnB cos they are so wickedly slow. grindingly slow that people just tag up and grind and rub each other's body. Grindfest. Nono~! It's Sinful! That's the Sex and the Mind not Freedom of Dancing. I sorta enjoy the company of DJ Police, cos of if they gather around you it means you have the pressure to perform and you have to be doing soemthing right in order for them to look at you. Either that or it's the other extreme when u keep =.=ing up. Hawt Stuff. Look forward to being on air this Wednesday. Might be blogging before that. Ciao!

Blogging is Sinful!

Yes it's sinful. =) It takes up so much of your time. My last long post took up like 2-3 hours of my time and I had to stay up until the wee hours of the morning to make it to the length that I would like it to be. However, tonight is not the case. Sorry but I don't have the time to do that. Cos there's this ball going down in Brighton. (Monash Multicultural Night). and no I am not going to balls cos I have decided that it's a waste of money. Cos guys have to dress up and such. My last one turned out to be pretty bad. However I am going to the after-party which is at this club called 'Seven' Heaven. OK I really added the heaven at the back. It's going to be another night of RnB and Hippidee Hop. I will be going with the party girl Mel whose hopefully has a fun group of friends along. I am not gonna party too hard. Cos I can't drink and drive. Neither does the music seem to get me going.

O Yeah that's the dancefloor which alot of people will be grazing. And there's the decks which I hope I will be standing behind in a Harddance Club.

Incidentally, I have decided to be brave and take up the task of being a radio DJ this semester in Radio Monash. It's nothing cool. I would believe that it's halfway between my bed rooming and DJing in clubs. A little promotion doesn't kill. But sometimes it does kill when you have the timeslot of every Wednesday 10AM. Who will listen to trance/hard dance in the morning. I reckon they need coffee than a douf douf behind their head. So sometimes I find selecting my playlist a challenge, a challenge which I enjoy solving. For the first week when I was doing the show, I was a nervous wreck and I had a 10 second gaping pause inbetween my every sentence. However ever since the second show I have been much more relex and I am slowly letting my flair to kick in. I will be listing below the tracklist of my songs that I have played for my 3 radio shows.

A couple of my mates have been telling me to try it on Synth FM the RMIT student radio, that was where Hamish and Andy came from, due to the fact that they broadcast over FM and is able to be tuned in anywhere. But I am abit reluctant to travel to the city every week.

I would like to apologise for the tardiness in my tracklist format and I will keep it constant for the next publishing. I am also pleased to say that I am one step closer to finding out the identity of the girl in my last post. One of my friends just told me last night that she's called Flora, a girl from Hong Kong! I even have her room number! Sweet. =) For those who are interested. Please PM me. On a sidenote for those wondering why I have not been blogging for these few weeks, my excuse is because my girlfriend was around and I couldn't have the space I needed to while I blog. I like to blog alone. But we enjoyed ourselves in Brisbane quite a lot. I would love to share more however I need to hit the showers. All ready for Seven!

Selling Signals Processing Book AU$70. Good Condition! No Markings at all!

Whee! I have completed my exams. Guess like i will not be studying for a while. I am BORED! I started to listen to BBC Podcast: The Best of Unsigned Artists and i found this track with an interesting melody. Kinda reminds me of Mr. Rubato of the old. The track is Wolfgang - Not in Love (Not True).

Thats the album cover.

I been checking out youtubes of my past favorite songs which included songs by Oasis and Millencolin, all rock bands, reliving memory i guess. But I don't wanna spam the youtube videos here. Too much is enough. =). I am going back to FM2006. I need a break.

Edited on 22/06/07:
OK. I have decided to continue on this post because firstly, I might not add alot of new stuff but hey, it's all related to me. Lets bitch about my landlord. Yes lets bitch about her. There's another part of her which I don't really like. One is her definition of Money, yes I know to some of you people money enhances things like health, happiness (but not necessary gives it as some of you might argue) , living conditions, it even enhances your SOCIAL CIRCLE. can you imagine it.

The definition of money on wikipedia was "Money is any good or tokens that functions as a medium of exchange that is socially and legally accepted in payment for goods and services and in settlement of debts. Money also serves as a standard of value for measuring the relative worth of different goods and services and as a store of value. Some authors explicitly require money to be a standard of deferred payment.[1] Money is central to the study of economics and forms its most cogent link to finance."

OK thats a whole lot of terms and definitions made up by lawyers and accountants. What money really is varies from one person to another. For Linus, it can be a contribution towards God. (Did I just read your mind? =P) . For me, it could be a source of food. YUMMY Food or talk time with my beloved girlfriend. For my girlfriend, it's just a piece of paper. O.O

*Freeze*

*Rewind*

My girlfriend and I, and more recently Jessamyn have been attending this forum: The Landmark Forum by the friendly people from Landmark Education. It a forum that doesn't just teaches you something, it's about having conversations about oneself, transformation about oneself, having great relationship with others and having a whole new perspective about other things. Money, being an important thing for most of us, other than the favorite mobile.

O yeah that used to be my hand(s)phone and I had 6 carriers (from left) Vignesh, Sanjit, Mutu, Chandra, Singh, and his gay partner. Incidentally Yee Chien's latest post is super disturbing, It has Naruto and Sasuke kissing on two separate occasions.

What my girlfriend attended was the Landmark Advanced Course and she found a brand new meaning for the word money. What if money was a way of saying thanks? In her futuristic utopia there will be no money but pieces of paper ready to incinerated.

*Fast Forwards*

As for my landlord how ever, it means everything to her. I can't help but notice that every conversation i have with her as a word money in it. Even if it means leaving the tap dripping or the drips of water on her most precious carpet which would cost bugs to manifest and for her to call the carpet cleaning services which will cost her extra money. Sounds abit far fetched for me. But one needs to understand her past. She's single and available and hot not, old definitely yes. She's a Singaporean, married to an Australian Local, however ,as 60 percent of the marriages are in this country, ended up with two of them signing a paper. The funny thing was, when she told me this she told me that her husband was claiming almost everything she had. Even her property back home in Singapore leaving only this precious house left to her in which she will soon lose to the bank as she is unable to foot the mortgage. However the strange thing is that she wants to renovate the house to make it pricer when she rents it would before the bank claims it back, so that it's an investment? =.= Anyway, She's in this business of organising the construction of a certain library for the needy kids in Chiangrai as well. However, throughout my conversations with her about her project and overhearing her exclaimed expressions through the phone lines, I can't help but to judge her. (FYI i am always hearing her exclaiming words of authority. "I won't let them do it! I will personally see it out myself! Why should I let them do it!" though i cannot really quote the exact words.) She's hurt inside. Lost of Power, and money and trust most probably from her broken marriage. I know she's trying to help the needy, however I would hope if she do it in a more sincere way and involve others rather than to do it just to prove something or to assert power. I will not back stab her on my blog (although this post seem perfectly fitting for the reason). I will now put it to point to talk this point out with her and to get to understand her more before I move out. I just want to see someone doing what they really want but not doing something just to correct something that has happened. In fact, I pity her. Not myself that I have to live with her and stand up to her perfectly sane sleeping hours between 11-7. (Mine probably starts at 6am and ends at 1pm) However, I have made a commitment to my dearest that I will sleep early, at least 12-2am and not like 6am. I want to be a transformed person to be accepted. =) Not because to be accepted, but I have been wanting to be like that for quite sometime but I just couldn't put it to task.

On the day after my final paper, I actually went crazy and went to do a mix of hard dance songs and ended up sampling accapella over some instrumental parts of the hard dance songs. It's like one of those mix and mash versions by the cut up boys, however it's more nooby and it's of the hard dance genre. I am finalising one mini mix which features 4 tracks i have on my computer at the moment, however I am waiting for the BK Cd album which is arriving from Singapore after the doctor passed it to my girlfriend to bring it over to me while she's here. I am waiting for it so that i can rip out songs from that cd and try to incorporate some sounds into the mini mix. I will be putting a sample online soon enough when jessamyn host it for me. Which she will after she cleans her room. =) I am too lazy for these kinda IT stuff.

I just "earned" 106 dollars today with one bank visit and one phone call today. Its so wicked. I just felt so happy even for the fact that i made a 60km/h turn on a 40km/h road with a speedometer and a possible police hiding. Is that considered speeding? I think it does =(. But i think I just earned it back =) By submitting my TFN to the bank! For all those that doesn't know, TFN stands for Tax F******* Number (Actually I don't know what F stands for but o well) Basically If you work, you have to submit your TFN to your employers in Melbourne and they will sorta record it. So at the end of every financial year, being 1st of july for Australia. You need to submit your income tax. But I blardie don't even work yet! True. However I have not submitted my TFN to the bank, hence the taxation office tax half of my interest as 'income tax' I used to say What the hell just let it go cos Australian interest rates are like 6% and half is 3% and hell it's still higher than POSB. OK I was wrong. I went to the bank today and i thought about the TFN thing and i just wanted to enquire about it and if i calculate it that if they rip 30 dollars from me a month. Hell, it's 360 a year! I would be rich! Aww turns out they only took out 106 dollars from me last year but still it's a return! I earned it back from the tax office!

I am not sure if she's that pretty though but if you guys are interested I will ask if I see her.

I have also sorted out my accommodation for the 12 months and possibly further if I like it. It's like even closer to the uni than the "on-campus halls" and I get to use my own internet without going through the PRICER Monash intra net. Rent is 175/week but I think i will like it there. Own toilet and own kitchen area. Own internet. I even have a friend there. Sylvia! And the girls to guys ratio is 3:1. Hello I am attached so no funny thoughts. But you guys are welcomed if you wanna bunk in. Hahahaha. Just joking, I will charge ya ass off for a peep! I pity Terry, he will have to come camouflaged in Black the next time in black at night. So I can't see him snooping around. Major thanks to sylvia for putting up with my "eh do u have a place at your place?" questions. Every time i sms her it seems to be about that. But I would sincerely like to thank you. Hope to see you neighbour!

Footnote: I been to youtube these days on the recent controversial England vs Holland U21 match which ended in an amazing 13-12 penalty shootout loss for the English. Especially for football and other sports. I hate to see people swear or even comment really bad stuff. I have a stereotype of Americans after viewing you tubes and their negative comments ok most are negative comments and skanky chics who flails to songs. (o great now i can't find the link) But yeah, I found some horrible ones for my favorite songs from Deepest Blue a few days ago and it's really disconcerting. If some guy will tell 'them' to like post somewhere else they will raise this thing about "freedom of speech" Americans - definitely not the center of the world, nor the leaders of the free-world. It just irks me. I am now justifying my decision not to go to the states to study.
